Emergency Rental Assistance Program
The Florida Department of Children and Families is now administering the state’s Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) Program funded by the US Treasury. This federal-funded emergency program assists renters and property owners with rental assistance. For additional information on how to apply, please visit the www.OurFlorida.com.
Mortgage Relief Assistance
The Homeowner Assistance Fund, established by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, was created to prevent mortgage delinquencies and defaults, foreclosures, loss of utilities or home energy services, and displacement of homeowners experiencing financial hardship after January 21, 2020. This new program will be implemented by the Department of Economic Opportunity. Please keep checking their website for new updated information. General Information
- Evictions - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) extends eviction moratorium until October 3 in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The CDC's statement ensures the nationwide residential Evictions Order that provides federal eviction relief to persons who submit a valid Declaration to their landlord regarding their inability to pay rent will be extended to October 3, 2021. - Foreclosures - President Biden directed the Departments of Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, and Housing and Urban Development to extend foreclosure moratoriums for federally guaranteed mortgages and continuing applications for forbearance for federally guaranteed mortgages until March 31. - Foreclosures - On July 30, 2021, The Federal Housing Administration (FHA), announced an extension of its moratorium on evictions for foreclosed borrowers and their occupants through September 30, 2021. FHA’s eviction moratorium extension will avoid displacement of foreclosed borrowers and other occupants who need more time to access suitable housing options after foreclosure. State Housing Initiatives Partnership Program - SHIP
Assistance for low to moderate income households that have been impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic.
