Florida Housing Encourages All Floridians to Participate in 2010 Census

TALLAHASSEE - The 2010 U.S. Census is right around the corner. Florida Housing encourages all Floridians to do your part by completing and returning your mandatory Census forms.

Participation in the Census impacts us all and, ultimately, helps determine how more than $400 billion in federal funding will be distributed to critical areas of need. Examples of funding areas include public housing, hospitals, job-training centers, emergency services and public works projects, just to name a few. The data collected by the Census also helps determine the number of seats Florida has in the U.S. House of Representatives.

When you add it all up, it's easy to see why we all need to do our part to make sure that every person is counted.

To learn more about the U.S. Census, visit the 2010 census website, where you'll find important information about the Census, including frequently asked questions, details about the form and more.
