New! - FHRP/SHADP Final Scoring and Ranking, Scoring Documents and Links

Background:
The 2006 Florida Legislature passed House Bill 1363 (Ch. 2006-69, s. 31, Laws of Fla.), a housing bill focused on addressing some of the affordable housing challenges the State currently faces. HB 1363 (Ch. 2006-69, s. 31, Laws of Fla.) includes $15 million to fund two hurricane recovery programs recommended by the Hurricane Housing Work Group in February 2005: The Farmworker Housing Recovery Program (FHRP) and the Special Housing Assistance and Development Program (SHADP).

The first cycle for these programs was held in 2006 with a cycle closing date of October 6, 2006. Seven Applications were submitted. Of those, three applications met all requirements and were approved to receive an allocation of funding.

There is approximately $11 million in funds remaining unallocated to be distributed in the 2007 cycle. Please see the 2007 timeline and public meetings notice under the “Quick Links” section of this page. A Rule Development Workshop will be held on January 26 in Tampa. The information for this meeting may be found under the public meetings link on this page.
