Florida Housing was created by the Florida Legislature more than 25 years ago to help our fellow Floridians obtain safe, decent affordable housing that might otherwise be unavailable to them. Today, Florida Housing continues its mission by increasing affordable housing opportunities and ensuring that its programs are well matched to the needs of those we serve. We know that we cannot accomplish our mission alone. As such, we continue to work with local governments, non-profits, elected officials and others to help spread the importance of affordable housing in Florida's communities.
Rental Housing Programs
Rental housing programs include the Multifamily Mortgage Revenue Bond, Low Income Housing Tax Credit, State Apartment Incentive Loan, Florida Affordable Housing Guarantee, Elderly Housing Community Loan and Home Investment Partnerships programs.
Homeownership and Special Programs
Florida Housing’s homeownership programs include the First Time Homebuyer Program and various down payment assistance programs, the Homeownership Pool Program and the Mortgage Credit Certificate Program. We also administer special programs such as the Predevelopment Loan Program, State Housing Initiatives Partnership Program, Demonstration Loans and the Affordable Housing Catalyst Program.
Disaster Recovery and Workforce Housing
In the wake of recent hurricanes and natural disasters, Florida Housing also administers a number of housing recovery programs that include the Hurricane Housing Recovery Program, the Rental Recovery Loan Program, the Farmworker Housing Recovery Program and the Special Housing Assistance and Development Program. We also administer a workforce housing program called the Community Workforce Housing Innovation Pilot Program.
